Contractual Voluntary Furlough Award Process Completed

The contractual Voluntary Furlough Award under Section 18.A. of our Contract is now complete.
Today, in conjunction with Crew Schedule Planning and Labor Relations, Voluntary Furloughs were awarded to eligible Flight Attendants senior to system seniority number 13,490 having a bid (Inflight Classification) seniority date of 4/17/1999 as it appears on the 6/23/2020 System Seniority list.
This is the first step in the awarding of the voluntary programs under the Contract. Furlough Mitigation Partnership bidding will close on August 24, 2020 at 8:00AM CT. Anyone senior to system seniority number 13,490 on the 6/23/2020 System Seniority List having a bid seniority date of 4/17/1999 is eligible to be awarded a Furlough Mitigation Partnership and should place her/his bid on file prior to this deadline.
With the exception of those on leave who have not received clearance to return to work or those individuals based in FRA, HKG & NRT who have not submitted documentation by the deadline supporting their ability to work in the United States, everyone above this line was awarded her/his first choice of the 8- or 13-month voluntary furlough duration period.
Awards will be available for viewing by individual Flight Attendants from their Work History screens which are accessible from CCS, sometime tomorrow morning.
Keep in mind, please, that this award does not contemplate any extension to the CARES Act or any supplemental agreements that may be reached. We recognize that the initial information about this award is difficult and for some may be unexpected and disturbing. Be assured, your Union continues to work on your behalf.

It is understandable that the uncertainty that is caused by this contractual process is creating any number of questions and we understand that your personal concerns. What we need to communicate to you tonight is that we are in a process that is not yet completed. Additional work will be done over the course of the next several days as the remainder of the voluntary programs to reduce involuntary furlough continue.
We ask that you be patient and offer our reassurance that we are doing everything we can to avoid Involuntary Furloughs and to ensure protections for the greatest number of our Members.
